Abstract
Supervision in a staff group can be difficult.
At DISPUK we have developed a very effective model that can be used in all staff-groups with or without a supervisor. The model only demands discipline – and training. It has five steps:
Situation: Give a detailed description of what the situation is and what has been done so far
Theme: Which themes might be involved in the situation? What might be an overarching theme?
Important: What is important and of value for all the persons involved – and especially for the person who brings up the case?
Research-question: Which question will the person who is bringing up the case pose to his / her colleagues about their experience (never ask what to do!). What are the persons own personal experiences related to this question? And after the person has listened to his / her colleagues experiences – their resonance – the person is asked about:
Future: What has become more clear to the person, and what to do as the next step?
The model is developed with initial inspiration from the American psychologist Carol Gilligans work with her Ph.D. students. She ask them what their personal experiences are with the question their research focuses on.
At this workshop I will demonstrate and engage the participants in the STAFF-model.
